You probably can’t pronounce them–I can’t, either–but if you’re any kind of cosmetic junkie, you’ve probably heard about the seven toxic chemicals usually found in commercial nail polish*. A few years ago I bought my first 7-free nail polish–without those horrific chemicals– and now, that’s all I’ll buy. Which brings me to my favorite cosmetics line, Pacifica Beauty, who sent me this trio of powerhouse nail colors to try for spring.
I love them. And I especially love that Pacifica Beauty makes 7-free nail color, which means NO NASTY CHEMICALS. Why should you care? Because the seven chemicals are environmental or health hazards; some are even carcinogens. Europe banned them a while ago. They’re just not good for us, and if we have a healthier alternative, it’s only logical to use it. So, the 7-free nature of these polishes is a big plus.
But just as good: the wider brush. A wider brush means color that goes on easily with full coverage. It’s another big win in my book.
Pacifica nail polish dries quickly–another important characteristic, because I’m impatient and rarely take the time needed for polish to dry. Which is why I often ding my freshly-painted nails. Like 99% of the time. Fast-drying is a MUST.
Did I mention they are durable? Long wear is a hallmark of this brand. Not so with some of the polishes I’ve bought. The Pacifica polishes all apply smoothly, too, and come in a whole bunch of fun colors.
My package had colors I got excited about:
Superfox is that beautiful teal blue color, one of my favorites, because I wear so much teal.
I love Midnight Ramblerbecause I haven’t bought a navy blue polish and it’s the perfect color when I’m having a jeans kind of week. Which is most of the time.
And the neutral Stardust Memories on the right goes with everything. There was a lot to like in this package and I’ll get a lot of use out of these great 7-free polishes.
But there are also many other gorgeous colors to choose from and each one is only $9 at Ulta.
Remember the other great things about Pacific Beauty products: 100% vegan, cruelty-free as there is no animal testing and of course, the use of recyclable and sustainable ingredients.
Pacifica Beauty is a true, 21st century cosmetic company with 21st century values, including high-quality products. But don’t take my word for it. Give their products a try, yourself!
*Toxic nail polish chemicals are: phthalates (dibutyl phthalate) toluene, parabens, camphor, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, triphenyl phosphate and xylene. NONE in Pacifica Beauty’s nail polishes.
I am so excited to find this brand…thanks for sharing it with us Carol. Also, I was fearful of painting my toes blue recently and my nail technician talked me into the color and I loved it. So, I encourage others to try these pretty, eco-friendly blues!
And they have so many different colors! I just think this brand has my values, so it’s easy to get behind it. And the prices are really good. I just saw some of the cosmetics in Whole Foods–but you can also find them at Target, at Ulta, lots of places. Plus online. SLowly but surely my cosmetics basket is filling with Pacifica and only Pacifica.
This is a great reminder about “eating clean” for beauty products also! I’m just starting to dip my toe in this —are there other nail polishes that don’t have these toxins? Thanks! jodie http://www.jtouchofstyle.com

You’re my kind of gal. Cruelty free and non-toxic are what I look for in all my products! I haven’t tried the Pacifica brand but will now. I want the Superfox because I wear lots of aqua and Teal too.
This is some great information. I dread painting my nails because it dries slowly and I smear it, it doesn’t last because it always chips, and I find it discouraging!
Those are such pretty colors. I live in south Florida by the beaches and I’m sure those colors would be a hit! I’m loving the wider brush and faster drying times you spoke about. I would definitely consider trying the Pacifica brand of nail polishes.
I got the same kit and it’s wonderful! I love the fact that they are all natural too. The colors are stunning. Everything from Pacifica Beauty is awesome!
Oh can I just have every color! I’ve never tried Pacifica polishes, but I’m definitely picking up a few to play with this weekend. Thanks for the recommends!
I am going to have to check out this company and line of polish. Beauty at the expense of the environment and animals lives just isn’t worth it. Thank you!
I don’t use nail polish often but when I do if I don’t have Fast drying they get ruined quickly lol I hadn’t of this brand but the lack of chemicals is also super appealing Thanks for sharing I’ll have to see if it’s available here.
Pacifica is a new brand for me, but these products looks absolutely great & I love that their nail colors are chemical free which is quiet awesome. Sounds like a worthy product to try out.
