;I love a good body wash. Waiting on my bathroom counter last month was an expensive department store cosmetic company brand and I couldn’t wait to open it. What a disappointment! Not very emollient–in fact, drying. Not very sudsy. And not worth the excessive price.

So when Dove® — long known for its moisturizing products— sent me its Visible Care Softening Body Wash, I was curious.  One squeeze on my net pouf and I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed.

Thick and emollient with an opulent pearlescent sheen, it felt more like a luxurious body creme than a body cleanser.

But would it lather up?  It did: rich, lavish suds, almost sensual.

I appreciated that Dove’s gentle, inoffensive floral scent wouldn’t conflict with other products I  use, especially because I’ve been sensitive to most scents since menopause.

But would it do what it said it would do—moisturize and soften? Absolutely. I saw noticeably softer skin in just a week.   Dove® says that this product line has the highest concentration of  Nutrium Moisture technology in the entire portfolio and I believe it. Most body washes dry my middle-aged skin, But Dove® Visible Care Softening Body Wash moisturized effectively. Even though it rinsed off completely clean. Nice.

I don’t always have time for the full body moisturizing routine, so I love that my body wash gets me there before I even I step out of the shower. Visibly more beautiful skin from a body wash: now there’s a revolutionary idea whose time has come!

As usual for Dove®, this was a product that lived up to its claims. If tested against pricey competitors, it would definitely come out on top.

Oh, and can we talk packaging? The cap is flat and the bottle sits on its cap–a design I love because it’s ready to dispense. No turning a bottle upside down, then shaking and squeezing to get the liquid to the cap.

Did I mention the cost? A hefty 18-oz. bottle can be found for $5.50. Now that’s cost-effective.

Dove’s taken care of all the details, and for this middle-aged-diva, it makes all the difference.
