A new key on our ring

September 24, 2010

A new key was added to our ring today, that to our new home, completely ours.

After we were married the first time in 1972, we moved into Florida State University’s married students’ housing. It was called Alumni Village and it was a dump. I mean it. A dump.

We looked around our new house in California. It’s gorgeous.

“This feels like a long way from Alumni Village,” M. observed.

Yes. A very long way. And for at least one of us, a long and winding road.

But I’m home now. Thank you, M., for the surprise of this new life and for making so many of my dreams come true.

  2. Thanks, Heather! And you have your own beautiful story unfolding….

  3. How romantic. I’m glad things are going so well for you, M, and your canine family.
