About friendship & public snorting

laughCurlyGirl Designs does it again!

I texted a Florida friend last month, asking “Hey, wanna snort tomorrow afternoon?”  She knew I didn’t mean cocaine. I meant snort with laughter, something we do well together and not often enough since I moved to California.  Of course she was up for it (or, today, I supposed she’d be “down” for it).

When we finally hung up our phones almost two hours had passed and we had snorted up a storm. And we’re snorting this week, as I’ll be in Florida hanging with the girls.

Laughter’s a necessary ingredient in any relationship.  It’s leavening. If we couldn’t laugh with our spouses, we’d all be divorced, I’m convinced.  Living together is hard and sometimes serious stuff. A break from all that serious stuff is always welcome, and the more breaks the better.

Laughter spices up any friendship–it’s definitely a prerequisite for mine.

And of course, even our dogs make us laugh.

Here’s the other thing I liked about this Curly Girl Designs thought:  “and will still hang out with you when you do it in public.”

Yeah, that perfect acceptance.  Love my women friends for accepting me with all my quirks and foibles.

Amen – it’s great to have those kind of friends.

  2. My home is usually pretty clean, I don’t like mess, clutter or dirt; but, I still clean before someone comes over. But the best friends are the ones that you don’t have to clean before they come over.

    Love that definition!

Snorting, burping…girlfriends don’t care. They just laugh harder. Enjoy.

you are certifiably whimsically crazy. “Havasnort” was the name of our small motorboat when I was a kid. Mom named it, maybe thinking of you

Snorting accompanied by laughter is the greatest! It feels so good to share a big old belly laugh with a friend.

It’s great to have friends with whom you can just be you and laugh your head off. Nice post.

That sounds like fun! I need a good snort!
