Another example of denial…

February 24, 2009

From MacWorld:

In what only can possibly be the most recent of Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer’s continuing series of pearls of wisdom, the Rambler from Redmond told a panel at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona earlier this week: “I agree that no single company can create all the hardware and software. Openness is central because it’s the foundation of choice.”

Steve, I get that you want to take a dig at Apple, but you were the one who not long ago called Apple “fantastically successful.” Remember?

Also, the foundation of choice? Really? Dude, your company built an empire on an effective monopoly. That’s not exactly choice, now, is it? Here’s the thing: the people have choice; they’re just not choosing you. Hurts, don’t it?

Oh Steve, won’t you ever learn?

Umm. Memory loss on Microsoft’s part? We all had a great laugh over this last week in Silicon Valley. This is exactly what I mean about denial being pervasive.
