Baby Boomers keep on keepin’ on!

March 10, 2019

BoomersTom, the blogmaster of Sightings Over Sixty, decided to get self-reflective this week. He wonders: are baby boomers leaving the world a better place than we found it, with better technology, a solid economy, and more peace, tolerance and love? Or are we shortchanging our children and grandchildren by leaving them with a mountain of debt and promises that are impossible to fulfill? See what you think over at Are Baby Boomers Just Lucky?

Rebecca Olkowski with BabyBoomster.com took a rainy-day walking tour of Angelino Heights near Downtown Los Angeles. It’s a neighborhood with restored and preserved Victorian and Craftsman homes. Even though her camera was dripping from trying to take photos in the rain, she had a great time.

Things, age, too!

As we age, the things we use begin to age too. Items lose their luster, do not work efficiently, completely break, or become obsolete. We then buy new things. Meryl Baer of Six Decades and Counting reluctantly replaced her old TV with an updated model. She describes her experience in To TV Purgatory and Back.

Over on Unfold and Begin, Jennifer shares the story of how she and her husband moved to Florida from Connecticut. In How We Quit Our Jobs And Moved To Florida she shares the ups and downs of such a big move including finding jobs, finding a place to live, and dealing with movers who held their furniture hostage.

Let’s hope winter leaves soon!

On The Survive and Thrive Boomer Guide, Rita R. Robison, consumer journalist, writes about how to buy a winter coat. Yes, spring is coming soon, but you’ll find great sales for the next couple of weeks. But, act quickly, the sales will be gone soon – just like winter.

And of course, for me, aging has brought with it a creative urge, so I’m making beautiful, soy artisan candles stuffed with healing crystals and botanicals. It really is a lot of fun. For summer I decided to amp up with some beautiful colorful frosted glass candle holders in scents like Sparkling Sangria, Pink Lemonade, Tropical Coconut Mango and Pina Colada. I know I’m pushing the season, but it’s been such a dismal winter that I needed something to brighten my days! Read about my summer cocktail sets here at A Healing Spirit.
