I’m sitting here with several blog posts that have been rewritten too many times to count. I’d like to post them, but I just don’t think they’re ready.
This is very like me; I have a relatively big inventory of unfinished personal essays, too.
So it’s Gratitude Friday. Let’s beat the bongos in happiness for another weekend, here already, and give thank for our many blessings.
An eclectic gathering of friends old and new at our place this weekend for some good food and drink. People to pet Tinker and Little He. And even better, lots of kids for Riley to play with! The last time he saw the little boys who are coming over, he wagged his little tail so hard it almost fell off!
I haven’t mentioned that we found a really good home for sweet Gigi, the cat, and in our general neighborhood. (Thank you, Patty, for forwarding my search email to the right people.)
It broke our hearts, because she really is a sweet girl and we love her so much. But her new mom is very nice, she has two other cats for company and some teenage boys who like cats. And a dad. And a big picture window from which to survey the world.
I am very aware that Riley has been the source of all these special arrangements and difficult decisions. I know how hard it has been for M.
So I’m grateful for the love of a good man, the blessing of a loving home for Gigi and the wonders of my life today.
(Bongo beat) Peace/out.
