Why you want this inspirational coloring book

Yes, adult coloring books are all the rage. At first, when I went looking for one, I only saw a couple different books and I saw them everywhere. Mandalas and butterflies were hot. Then, I received one as a gift. But it wasn’t until MaryLou Falstreau came out with her beautiful, inspirational coloring book that I found the one I’m not only enjoying, myself, but going to give as gifts. Let me tell you about it.

You may remember MaryLou from the blog post I did about her Women and the Hourglass products. I wrote about the inspirational card deck, but she’s got greeting cards, fine arts prints and now, a beautiful coloring book at her online store.

I’m going to color this one very soon, maybe next!

Each page is an affirming, inspirational thought. It’s spiral-bound for easy use and what I like best is that there are no intricate little pieces to color in, leaving me plenty of brain time to think about what the page is telling me.

best-coloring-bookI just love coloring in this high-quality book. And yes, I colored these!  The coloring book is $18 and you can order it from her site. You may even want to order a few more things because her work is irresistible.

But don’t do what I did: I colored too many pages over two days, gripping colored pencils. That, on top of my mouse-work and wielding the DVR remote to fast forward and program caused me to have a little bit of a repetitive motion injury. Yes, I know. Only I would get injured from sedentary activities. And THIS, my friends, is why I absolutely can not be left to my own devices in the gym. Just imagine what that would be like.

But you can see the temptation to color and color. So I got markers, which are easier for my fingers.

You want this coloring book. And you want some other things, too. What fabulous gifts!  Why not browse her site here and then visit her online store here to order. Or, there’s a page on her site that lists the many retailers who carry her beautiful line.

PS  Her limited edition prints here are just lovely. My favorites are Love as If and New Beginnings. But I also like Ruby and Down Doggie and, and…I love them ALL.  I wish I had more wall space in my house! But if I open a little office one day, for sure a few of these gorgeous prints will hang on the walls. Oh, did I mention they are well-priced, too?

MaryLou and I came together as online friends after I found her card deck, and the we moved on to the telephone. She’s a beautiful soul. But then, I don’t have to tell you. Just look at her stunning art.

That is one cool coloring book, Carol. I’ve stayed away from coloring (for the most part) just because – yes, I can’t stand 90% of the books I’ve seen for sale. I still wish they would bring back Venus Paradise coloring sets, but the book above could be a close second.

Aahhh, yes, these coloring books. But you’re right, these are so much better! I always fear getting the ones from the stores where the images are too busy that they might just give me migraines instead of relaxing me. This one though seems calming and inspirational! Thanks for sharing, Carol!

  6. Hi Carol! It sounds like you need to take a couple of days off and go to a blogging conference and rest that hand!!! I’ve always loved colouring – as a young child and as an adult helping my 5 children do colouring! I find it very therapeutic. I haven’t indulged in a colouring book of my own yet, but I am sorely tempted! This book looks divine ????

  24. I have found this post just at the right moment as I have been thinking of adding a colouring meditation to the various meditation techniques we teach and I was looking for a colouring book with a bit more to it than just pictures. Thanks, Carol!

  25. Anna Palmer says:

The coloring is lovely…and you left me laughing imagining your hand as a cramped pencil claw. I guess it needs to come with a dosage warning.

  26. Liz Mays says:

I actually really like this. Most coloring books are too overwhelming for me with too much to color, but I like this one, and the message is awesome.

  27. Silly Mummy says:

This is brilliant – so different to all the others! I have an Alice in Wonderland one, which I love as it’s one of my favourite books, & such iconic illustrations, but I would love this one too. I’m not so fussed about the mandalas, etc!

  28. I’ve seen some her work before and find it so inspirational. Would love to play around with these prints.

  29. Kusum says:

I enjoy coloring with my grandkids. So relaxing until little three year old fingers decide to color over my masterpieces. Having my own coloring book with inspirational quotes, sayings is more up my alley than Hello Kitty. Thanks for sharing this on Book Wino today.
