Yes is a beautiful prayer. Another one that i like very much is this one:
May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warm upon your face
May the rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of His hand
Have a lovely sunday!
As far as i know it’s an irish blessing…
Here’s my favorite prayer, The Prayer of St. Francis:
Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
It is in dying to self that we are born to eternal life.
Hmmmm. I have not used set prayers before. I have always innovated. I have been writing mantras and employing them. “I have an abundance of love–both giving and receiving” has been one that has anchored me when I was perceiving rejection in my life that was drowning me. But a mantra has different purpose / energy than a prayer. I’ll have to explore some prayers at your invitation. Thank you for the Sunday prayer (and thanks to Sybille and Toni for their prayers shared in the comments!)
