Boom! You can still see some of these vintage bugs so familiar to Baby Boomers on the road–the real thing–and it always reminds me of my younger days. It’s my favorite time of the week–when Baby Boomers blog about what’s on their mind these days. Today’s post has helpful medical information, an assessment of the proposed tax plan, a look back at the death of President Kennedy and more. So let’s get started.

Some fifty years have passed and the classified documents from the JFK assassination are being released. Well, some of them, anyway. Rebecca Olkowski at Baby Boomster remembers the day he was shot. Were you alive and remember where you were when it happened? What event do you most remember from your youth?

After watching a TV quiz program, Rita R. Robison, consumer journalist blogging at The Survive and Thrive Boomer Guide, was surprised she couldn’t remember the word that gives you the steps to use if you think someone is having a stroke. It’s FAST. Check out her article to see what it stands for.

The moment Halloween was over, Laura Lee Carter observed the subtle but real transition of TV advertising into Christmas mode. She is also helping a new friend buy a cozy little ranch near her home in rural Colorado. Here are a few of her thoughts on the dos and don’ts when it comes to rural home purchases.

We’ve heard a lot about the new tax reform proposed by the Republicans. Will it pass Congress and actually become the law of the land? And is it fair? Tom Sightings takes a stab at deconstructing the proposal in this week’s post New Tax Plan — Fair or Not Fair?

Meryl Baer of Six Decades and Counting spent some time this week attempting to clean her house, specifically her bedroom, a daunting task. She tries keeping a relatively neat home, but realizes she will never win any clean house awards. Baer recognizes she is destined to a life of Organized Chaos.

I’ve started a new blog devoted to being of service to those who are healing or grieving over at my business website.  Since the holidays are coming I’ve put all my beautiful healing and condolence gifts  on sale so more people than ever can benefit from their gentle support.

There is a time to write when inspiration helps us push the pen forward.  And there is a time to edit to take what we wrote and create a better piece of work.   We shouldn’t confuse the two as Jennifer reminds us with her post, Now is the Time To Write, on Unfold and Begin.

I’m at the cusp of being considered a ‘baby boomer’ and my memory of JFK’s assassination is just as vivid as Rebecca’s. I was waiting for labor to begin for the birth of my first child after having had two miscarriages. Jackie Kennedy was my inspiration and she experienced the heartache of miscarriage and lost pregnancy just as I did. A very traumatic time for us as a country. JFK gave us hope.
