Typewriters would be clacking back in our old days, as my favorite Boomer bloggers express their thoughts this week. But today it’s the almost silent click of keyboards. When I think of how hard our fingers had to work on those manual keys! When electric typewriters arrived, we couldn’t believe how much easier it was to type.
And now? My computer keyboard is a staple of daily life.
Remember “white out”? Erasable bond? Self-correcting typewriters? We Boomers lived through all that and more.
Here’s some of what’s on our minds this week:
Let’s face it. There’s a part of all of us that want to believe we’re in the cool crowd, one of the “in” people. For many years Laurie Stone wanted to believe she was a happening chick till indisputable facts got in the way. Do you ever wonder the same? Then you must ask yourself the following hard questions. If you answer yes to even one, you may be hipster-challenged.
Online learning exploded last year and even though things are slowly opening (and then closing again) online learning is still going strong. Jennifer, of Unfold and Begin, loves the classes offered through Masterclass and thinks you might be interested in it too. Tom at Sightings Over Sixty wants to know: What are your memories of Summer Vacation? They are always good, aren’t they? So good he’s decided to take a short vacation himself, off to create some new memories, to bring back with him in September.
Have you thought about where you will be living in the next 10 or 20 years? Rebecca Olkowski, with BabyBoomster.com writes about how you may need to make adjustments to your living situation to make it easier to age in place. arol
Hot days, the temperature often hitting 90 or more, day after day, June through July, characterizes this summer on the East Coast. Meryl Baer, stifled by the heat day after day, laments the dog days of summer in this week’s Beach Boomer Bulletin post.

That’s it for this week’s Boomer bloggers. I hope you enjoyed each and every post!
Two years of typing. Only half of the desks had electric typewriters, so you had to split learning between those and the old manual ones. Remember changing the ribbon? Ugh.

Oh the ribbon! OMG yes. Yes I do.
Great job, Carol. Thank you. Love those old typewriters, but addicted to my keyboard!
I share that addiction. Hard to kick!
Oh the memories of my old underwood…and my friend, Donna, beating the stuffing out of hers.
All my favourite bloggers together again!
Every week we gather!
