Boomer life goes on…

Some good reading for you this weekend, even as the world spins in crazy ways. Dig in to a variety of interesting posts from Boomer blogs.

Figuring out what to do about heart problems is complicated. On The Survive and Thrive Boomer Guide, Rita R. Robison, consumer journalist, writes about a report that aims to help consumers make smart choices about the prevention and treatment of heart disease. It discusses the dangers of too many screening tests, how to make the decision on when to take drugs, and how to chose the right hospital if you need surgery. Read more HERE.

Some of us like to celebrate birthdays, other folks prefer to forget the years rolling by too fast. But sometimes a special birthday deserves attention. An acquaintance of Meryl Baer of Six Decades and Counting turned 110 on April 1st. Read about this remarkable woman and Baer’s comments on aging in this week’s post 110 and Counting.

The next Presidential election is three and a half years away, but Meryl  is already thinking about the pros and cons of potential candidates –sometimes with tongue in cheek–in Reflections on the Position of President of the United States.

With a recent scary CAT scan of her own lungs, you may wonder why Laura Lee chose to read this book: When Breath Becomes Air.

Starting a business ain’t for the faint of heart. I talk about some of my setbacks in a post HERE.

Finally…..if ever we needed more loving kindness in the world, it’s now. I’m offering a simple, beautiful lovingkindness meditation HERE.
