Candy Hearts

February 8, 2009

Hundreds of years from now people of the future will find these artifacts and wonder why we ate them. They’re fairly tasteless, and have the consistency of chalk.

But, oh, they are so emblematic of Feb. 14, aren’t they? Did you remember they are made by Necco and are called Sweethearts? Only 3 calories each.
There are 10 new sayings for this year:  Recipe 4 Love, Table 4 Two, Stir My Heart, My Treat, Top Chef, Yum Yum, Sugar Pie, Sweet Love, Honey Bun and Spice it Up.
Necco thought some were outdated. Old favorites like Dig Me and You are Gay are now gone.
I LOVE Sweethearts. Just as much as I love Peeps–marshmallow chicks — at Easter.
American traditions.
