Chicken Soup for the Soul: Just Us Girls giveaway!
July 13, 2014
What’s on your summer reading list? Riley has some ideas….
Mary Buchan, MidLifestyle RNventor is hosting a book blog hop during her virtual book launch of Over iT. Thirteen amazing authors –including me! –will make you think, cry, laugh out loud or all three. Each author will give you a chance to win his or her book in a giveaway that ends July 23, 2014. Follow the links below and make sure you enter all for a chance to win!
I’ll send lucky commenters a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Just Us Girls. The collection features essays about women’s friendships and my essay, 50 Ways I Love His Mother, is one of my very favorites of the many essays I’ve written. And it’s about one of my very favorite and most beloved friends.
The book of essays and stories is a perfect summer read — bring it to the beach and read an essay or two in between swims. Or naps. Take it on a plane. Keep it on your night table. Riley will pick a winner for every 10 commenters on this post: one winner if there are 10 or more, two if there are 20 or more and on.
And here’s the blogger list for the giveaway–you can join the Blog Hop yourself further below! (Riley has visited every one of these and suggests you do the same.)
Riley will choose the winner (s) at random using a method he and I have perfected that has to do with assigning each comment a group and a number and placing treats on the numbers. He picks the treat he wants. All treats are the same. I might I have to rename him Random Number Generator. Please be sure to give me an email. Your information is confidential and used for this giveaway only. Giveaway ends on July 23rd at 11:59 pm. The winner who does not respond within 2 days of our announcement via email will be dismissed in favor of another winner. Open to residents of the USA and Canada.
Riley’s ready: what are you waiting for? Give him a comment!
And here’s the Linky for the BlogHop:
Riley, I do love CS books and I especially loved the one about dogs.
I hope you pick me because I would enjoy this book and like reading about
the women in this novel who have great friendships.
Riley, I would like to appeal to your intelligence and your palette. First, your intelligence. There are many people out there who say they like dogs but they don’t necessarily show it. I am a blogger that writes a lot of dog stories. If you are ever bored or want to hear what your soon-to-be friends are doing out in doggie world, check out their stories. I understand dogs because I “talk’ dog. I especially think you would love Louis Vuitton, a mini Dachshund who is not only well-traveled but a great conversationalist. Now, your palette. I hear that your mom gives you treats that are all the same. Pick me and I will see that you get a very special treat.
Wow, someone has the wrong idea! I get a Barkbox every single month and it’s full of all different treats. Last month I got heart shaped carob cookies, on top of a bunch of other organic treats. I am well-treated!
Sorry, Riley, but I’m a cat lover (I LOVE all animals but my hubby says a defiant no to getting a dog and I kind of like him) so I hope that doesn’t cloud your judgment about choosing me.
Love to read all of these, and love to read Carol’s.
Neat idea, Carol. Was it yours or Riley’s? I hope you girls enjoy your summer reads 🙂 Feel geographically discriminated against … not from the US or Canada. HUGS <3 from a different location.
Thanks for sharing this contest and telling us about this new book. I do love the CS series, and this one is right up my ally. Have a great day! Maryann
Hi Carol! This book is one I haven’t read yet so I would LOVE to win a copy. (And besides, Riley loves me because he knows I’m a doggy person too!) ~Kathy
Riley, I need to talk to you. I totally need this book because I’ve been contemplating submitting to them and I want to refresh my mind and real Carol’s essay. Okay? So help a pet-lover out, would you? 😉

Riley I know what kind of plate you use, how you like your food cut up and even how you eat them one thing at a time! You have to pick me please!
Ha hahaa This is the best winner selector I have yet to see! Brillo! Whether I win or not, you gave me my laugh for the day.
Who won? or haven’t you posted that yet? 🙂
We usually equate chicken soup as a source of comfort. It’s amazing how Newmark taught of it as a title for a book. Just saying. Spoonful Of Comfort
