Creating

September 10, 2009

Creative work.

I love it.

All kinds, not just writing.

I’ve had supplies to make shadow boxes sitting in my closet for years. Between work, managing two homes and living on two coasts, I have always been too busy to sit down and do them. But I want to.

Creating art is harder for me than sitting at a keyboard and letting the thoughts flow. Creating art takes more space and time. With enough of those things, though, I love it.

I’m still too busy, with teaching, dog-watching and love. Just not enough time in a week.

But after we move, I won’t do anything but create. I’ll write. I’ll do art projects. Can’t wait.

Assuming no other interruptions in our plans, we’ll be on our way to northwestern Italy in just 10 days. I can feel myself already getting inspired to do some “creating” while I’m there.

Diana is a potter and a very good one. I’ve never thrown pots before, and am hoping Diana will have time to squeeze in a lesson or two during our trip.

Creating is good for the soul. Things that are good for the soul keep us healthy.
