Do you recognize him? If you’re a regular reader, you may remember that this is Rocky, one of my favorite dogs, otherwise known as GCH Fulla Bull Soulja Boy, Best of Breed at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club show a few months ago.
This was taken a few days ago at a show in northern California. We try to get out to support our little buddy when we can, and this show gave us a chance to see not only our Rocky, but one of his sons and a daughter, who are all showing well.
Come along with me and see how the kids are doing, and enjoy some of the other gorgeous pups we saw.
So let’s meet some dogs on parade, shall we?
This is Manny, son of Rocky. His full name is Fulla Bull I’m a Soul Man and he has a really big personality. Cute, cute, cute and very playful. He did very well at this show, too, doing his father proud. The two are very different. Rocky is reserved and stately, regal in his championship. Manny’s still a kid and likes to play.
This sweetheart is Boxy, litter mate of Manny and daughter of Rocky. She’s doing well, too. The whole crew competed in a few shows recently an they did pretty well. When you look at the three of them, you can see what happens when a breeding program works.
Here are the two boys, waiting to walk.
Manny is in front in the foreground and Rocky is behind him.
Below, the two of them in the ring. Manny is being handled by Bill, in the white pants, and Rocky by Mike, in the beige jacket.
Here’s Rocky in the ring.
Boxy is just adorable in the ring. Her handler is wearing pink.
And of course, at the show we couldn’t miss this reminder that breeding counts:
How about a few other sights and sounds from the show?
This gorgeous girl is Bella Mia. She is a Coton de Tulear, a new breed added to the non-sporting group this year. She is eight years old and was as sweet as can be. Those eyes!
This was my favorite station to watch–grooming went on constantly and the dogs were so patient. And looked so perfect.
Serious grooming.
No fancy grooming for a Sharpei!
A perfectly shaped Bichon grooming. Just gorgeous.
Standard poodles have brains and beauty both.
Yes, more grooming for these long-hairs! I have that straightening iron, too.
This dog was resting up for a big moment in the ring.
And here is Manny with his Aunt Susan. She is Rocky’s person.
If you ever thought show dogs weren’t beloved…
He’s the cutest.
Manny lives in Florida, by the way, and his person is Susan’s sister.
One of the judges. I loved his pink jacket (slung over a chair in the backround.)
What a feast for a dog lover! Thank you, Carol. I’m so wanting to get a Frenchie too. But I haven’t come across one in India yet. That puppy is a darling!

I know, so very cute!
How fun! My younger son and I love to go to dog shows. What beautiful pictures. And that puppy at the end is the cutest. Have a great weekend Carol!
Carol, love the article! Pictures are fabulous! You captured so much.
Such gorgeous pups – what fun that must have been! Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thank you for taking me along. Something I’ve never been involved in – I love peeks into different worlds than the one I inhabit.

So cute! I love the grooming station I could sit and watch that all day!
We showed our Old English Sweeties for years. What memories these videos and photos bring back!
