Secret drugstore bargains I can’t live without in summer or any time

NOT A SPONSORED POST!
Drugstore bargains get a bad name. I don’t see any reason to spend a zillion dollars on branded body or face washes or even sunscreen. So here are several of my favorite drugstore bargains. Oh and one more product I really can’t live without that isn’t a drugstore item. But let’s get started with the drugstore deals, first:
My hair stylist kept commenting on how well my color maintained between visits and finally asked, “What shampoo are you using?” And this is it. I use TRESemme Shampoo Revitalize and Conditioner and she’s right. It does work. Definitely works for me and is easy on the budget.
I love a refreshing, tart-sweet body wash in summer –it feels so good against my skin! I fell in love with the scent (and price) of Softsoap Juicy Pomegranate & Mango Infusions body wash. Years ago one of the bath and body companies had a wash called Pomegranate Martini that I loved and, as seems to happen all the time with so many favorites, they discontinued it. This is pretty much the same scent at a better price. I’ve seen it as low as $3.29 Of the commercial body washes, this has to be my all-time favorite.
The Aveeno Positively Radiant Brightening face cleanser at under $7 is another drugstore deal I can’t live without. Well, ok, I can live without it. But I don’t want to. A little of this goes a long way.
Aveeno makes a great sunscreen with high SPF 30 to 70. I love that it doesn’t have that sunscreen smell that I can’t stand on my face and the consistency is like a nice moisturizer: never greasy. I use the one with SPF of 50. I can find it for under $9 so it’s an affordable choice.I saw a review which said this left white patches–I have NEVER had that experience. Not once.
It’s not a drugstore item and perhaps not a bargain but I am a HUGE fan of L’Occitane shea butter hand cream any time of year and at any price. Its staying power is legendary and it absorbs quickly. I prefer the unscented version and keep a gigantic tube at my bedside (about $30 but a little goes a long way) and a small one in my handbag. At all times. ($12 but I can usually find trios for only $10 each). It’s just fantastic and worth whatever they charge for it.
A word about ingredients. I recently read that a brand known for being earth-friendly and made from ingredients derived from plants actually have toxic ingredients. Just because it says “natural” doesn’t mean it isn’t toxic or harmful in some way. This is a far more complicated subject than I am qualified to handle BUT: I do care about what I put on or in my body and while there may be products that have fewer chemicals, at this stage in my life it’s not my top priority for everything I use. Just things that stay on my body a long time.
I have several drugstore brands that I love. John Frieda is my favorite shampoo and Not Your Mother’s Blonde Moment is my favorite conditioner. I’ve tried the expensive brands of shampoo and conditioner but I like the drugstore brands the best.
I love that Pomegranate and Mango mixture and will look for it in the drugstore I use. You have shown you don’t have to spend a lot to look and feel good.
I love Aveeno and haven’t tried their sunscreen. I’ll have to try it. I use mostly L’Oreal hair products for my bleached blonde head. It makes perfect sense to trust drug store products. And, L’Oreal is the parent company of Lancome, so…same products half the price.

It is amazing all the different drugstore items you can get hold of that really do make a difference to your skin and hair care routines! These are some great suggestions.
I remember my mom would buy Tressemme from the salon back in the 80’s. If was good enough for salon sales back then, I’m sure it’s still good now. Great list you have here.
I love the L’Occitane shea butter hand cream and wish I could find it at a drug store. I’ve only been able to find it at Sephora. I love the Almond scent.
We use a to. Of soft soap in a his house. Sometimes the drugstores have much better deals than the grocery stores. That shampoo looks like it would last a while longer than what my kids currently use
My husband love Aveeno cleanser, that’s the only product he can use in his face without breaking out. I find drugstores expensive even with their sales.
I couldn’t agree more on L’Occitane products because I love it too! Never tried Aveeno yet but I heard a lot of good feedbac about the product. Let’s see if it will satisfy me too.
