I recently started volunteering at the nursing home. It seems to fill my soul that felt a little empty since I have retired. Between that and helping out with grandbabies I think I will be ok.

  3. Mary Lovstad says:

Good reminders to keep it simple!

  4. I LOVE this! So many of us rarely take the time to really enjoy our lives. We’re so consumed with money and other material things that we forget to just enjoy the air we’re breathing.

  5. It feels so, so good to give. I give to every person I see at the store or at the corner stop who’s asking for money for good causes. It feels good to know I’m helping.

  6. Why did I get so emotional while reading this? This really made me feel good. Thank you!

    Embrace the little things.

  13. Your tips are very important and I do give back and tell my family I love them so I feel good about that. I still have to let myself eat dessert even though I will feel guilty.

  14. My friend Randy once told me I was wishing my life away by living in the future instead of the moment. I’ll never forget what he said: Enjoy your life…every minute of it. I am guilty of not living in the moment, that’s for sure. One of the ways I stay in the present is to sit on the beach at sunset and watch the waves roll in. Perks of being a mermaid. Thanks for sharing! Thought provoking for sure!

I love this list. Being kind to both ourselves and others is the key I think. Another thing that I have done forever is when I am out I smile at as many people I can and see how many smiles I get back. Some people give me the stink eye but most people’s faces light up! It makes me feel happy.

  20. Perfect. Enjoying life is so much more simple than we all seem to make it.

  22. You are a sharp shooter; you get straight tot he point. You admonish your audience to stand for something, and rightly so. It is important because then your life will have a focus. Your life will count for something.

  23. I love this! I think we often make happiness too complicated. We compare our happiness to others and think that we have to have what others have to be happy. We don’t! Happiness is a lot simpler than we often think.
