Everyone needs an appreciative audience

November 30, 2009

We love to swing.

The dance, that is.

It’s been our focus the last few weeks in dance class, bringing back to mind Dick Clark and the American Bandstand, doo wop and other great dance music of our youth.

Gabor, our instructor, is teaching us some fun dance tricks. We have a ball with them, too.

Of course, we each have our issues. M’s got a step he usually misses when he turns me to my left. I get so busy singing the song that I forget the count. So we have started drilling at home.

Sunday, as we began our practice, Riley found a spot about three feet away and settled in to watch. Avidly.

We were clearly “the entertainment.” He was clearly “the audience.”

All he needed was a bag of popcorn.

It was a stitch.

Not him in the photo. But it could’ve been.
