Feelings are how we know we’re alive.
Flatliners? People who numb feelings out?
They may as well be dead.
Feelings are also the starting point for emotional healing.
We’ve got to feel in order to heal.
That means going through all the bad stuff so we can
come out the other side. From dark to light.
There’s no way around it, only through it.
But it’s easy to get lost in the dark.
It’s been a long time since I’ve needed this kind of thing,
thankfully, but when I think about healing, Louise Hay comes to mind.
If you haven’t seen one of her books, you’re missing helpful stuff.
A few of her pearls of wisdom:
Self-approval and self-acceptance in the now
are the main keys to positive changes
in every area of our lives.
In the now.
That means we can’t go forward unless
we’re ok with ourselves. Right now.
Forget the past. Focus on what’s going on in the present.
Be kind to yourself.
Begin to love & approve of yourself.
Too many people get stuck here.
But it’s easier than it might seem.
When people I know are going through tough times
I see it first in their self-talk.
Start healing by looking at your self-talk,
the things you say about yourself
to yourself and to others.
It’s got a lot of power.
Make self-talk positive,
even if you don’t feel it in the moment.
You will, eventually.
Change the talk and the feelings will change in time.
You are not a helpless victim of your thoughts
but rather a master of your own mind.
