I know it’s December 9th, but there’s still time to find that perfect holiday outfit.We’re going to a pretty formal holiday dinner in a few weeks at the gorgeous Ahwahnee Hotel at Yosemite National Park, so it’s only natural that I’d start thinking about what to wear. {more info on that event here: http://middle-aged-diva.blogspot.com/2010/03/christmas-2010.htm}
After packing and unpacking my closet twice this year, I just couldn’t justify a purchase, when I already own {and can actually find} some outfits that would work. But that didn’t take away from my enjoyment of online shopping for a holiday frock.
Let me share a few of the ones I loved.
Igigi didn’t call this dress The Sicilia for nothing. It really does look Sicilian.
The right accessories could dress it up: think silver sparkles or diamantes. A red sequin clutch and shoes would make it a festive frock. Or black leather would dress it down just a tad.
And it’s a good dress for transitional seasons, too.
The right curvy girl could do this lady-in -red dress justice.
I think it’s perfect for the holiday season.
Its timeless style means it’ll be a holiday staple in your closet for years.

Speaking of red, this dress is called Crimson Intentions. I love the plaid for the holidays.
(Yes, I’m into plaid for some reason, this season.)
No need to overly embellish it–the design is its own embellishment.
While it’s more a young woman’s dress, I think it’s adorable. Find it at modcloth.com
This Igigi number is the one I would have bought, if I had been wise enough to empty my closet completely of holiday outfits.
I think it rocks out. A push-up bra and some sparkly earrings that complement the crystal and bead halter straps and you’re ready to go.
Joan. On Mad Men. Don’t you think this scarlet dress or one like it is in her closet?
As a Mad Men fan, I had to add this beautiful vintage look. It’s the sexiest dress here. If you’ve got that sex-bomb body, go for it! Find it on modcloth.com
