First, a dream

August 22, 2012
Nothing happens but first a dream.
Carl Sandburg

It’s easy for dreaming to fall by the wayside in this practical world of ours,
where we measure ourselves by what we do and what we have
and our dreams are sometimes craven and material.
I dream of a world where every child lives with loving parents
and is never abused;
a world in which there is no war,
 elders are cared for and respected for their wisdom;
a world in which those less fortunate are supported
and cared for;
and in which compassion trumps all.

What kind of world do YOU dream of?
