Croissants, macarons + flowers: ahh France!

May 10, 2017

Yes, we’re off to France for a while, hopping a plane to DFW and meeting our friends for the trip across the pond. Without my usual ton of baggage because I was more reasonable this time. Of course, we will be vigilant, as friends exhort us. But really, there’s not much we can do to head off an armed do-badder.  And while we’ll miss Riley a whole lot, his petsitters will be living in and taking great care of him.

Wanderlust

Paris is our first destination.  I’ve always had wanderlust and always found ways to travel, regardless of my circumstances. You might say I’m expert at that.  I’ve been to Paris maybe half a dozen times. But not in more than a decade. This trip will be very different from any other visit, though. I’m excited that we’ll be doing some private tours of some of my favorite places: D’Orsay, Louvre and a walking tour of Paris. I’ve done all this, of course, on my own, but never the deep cultural dive we’ll be doing on this trip with docents and historians.

After five or so days in Paris we’re hopping a Viking River cruise and looking forward to seeing Monet’s gardens at Giverny in spring (hope it isn’t raining) and paying our respects at Normandy. The World War II era has always resonated with me and I know it will be a moving visit.

When we return, we pick up a rental car big enough for the luggage of four people and heading to the Loire Valley to see some chateaux and drink wine.

While I’m gone….

In the meantime, I’ve got so much good content for you here while I”m gone!  I’ve hand-picked some posts written by some of my favorite blogging friends, on topics as diverse as back pain and the way we look at life to laughter and, well, you’ll see. Lots of really good stuff.

I’m going to try really hard to NOT post about Paris while I’m there and be 100 percent in every moment. Because each moment of life is precious and none more precious than time in the City of Love, strolling the Left Bank, drinking wine, eating macarons. But when I get back….

Have a great couple of weeks while I’m away, and oh by the way, don’t forget about my new business, A Healing Spirit. Because the need for healing goes on, even if I’m not in town.  You can see all of the wonderful products and services to support healing right here.  And don’t forget that I’m asking for subscriptions all month and that in June, my Riley will randomly choose a winner to receive a little package of healing goodies. Subscribe on the bottom of the home page here.

Don’t forget about us!
