Getting down to it

February 16, 2010
The whoosh and clang of the cable cars outside my hotel window were a familiar lullaby that sent me quickly off to dreamland last week. That, and a really comfortable hotel bed.

The writers conference was excellent and the schedule grueling. I met some great women — many with manuscript in hand– and I left with a real sense of the amount of hard work that lies ahead.

Memoirs turn on change. The story must develop so that the subject’s change is clear by the end. It’s not enough to just provide a narrative. And the whole story is too much.

This is going to take some deep, deep thought.

It’s intimidating, but also exhilirating to know that I have all the time in the world and no more excuses.
