Go green…or don’t go at all

February 23, 2009

“Savannah has been celebrating St Patrick’s Day since 1813, and this year is the 185th annual St Patrick’s Day Parade. Every year, more than 300,000 people visit Savannah specifically for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, taking part in all of
the weekend activities and events. The single biggest draw to the area is the
parade, which takes place in the Savannah Historic District. The three hour
parade is full of marching bands, floats, and other festive sights and sounds.

I will be among those 300,000 people. It’s one of the biggest St. Patty’s Day celebrations in the nation. Who knew? They even dye the river green.
