Gratitude Friday: friends

January 8, 2010

Thanking and acknowledging all my friends, this Gratitude Friday.

We can never be too grateful for friends, our chosen family. Because we truly do get by with a little help from our friends. In good times and bad.

This weekend, some of our dearest friends are joining us at a party to celebrate our remarriage. Cold outside, warm inside.

Others are thinking and sending happy thoughts across snow covered mountains, big oceans and broad continents.

Leaving my wonderful, warm network of Florida friends is bearable only because we’re just a plane ride away. Plus there are all sorts of fun places to meet in the middle. I already have a red rocks spa vacation in Utah planned for April with one friend. And our guest room will be the first room we set up.

As we settle in California, we’ll be with another wonderful, warm group of friends. M. and I are already planning a monthly open house supper for the disparate group of people I know (and he’s meeting) there.

Geographic boundaries are meaningless in matters of the heart. Including friendship. (Symbolized by the yellow rose.)

Diana’s on a break from blogging, but her Gratitude Friday club is posted there anyway, so take a look: www.creativestructures.blogspot.com
