Hawthorne Gallery

May 8, 2011

There’s no shortage of gems on the Big Sur Coast and the Hawthorne Gallery is one of them. The Hawthornes are a super-talented family of creatives: painters, sculptors, glass workers and this gallery displays just how talented they really are. Here’s the view from the upstairs gallery. This photo doesn’t capture the beauty of either the sculpture or the fountain that sit on the gallery grounds.

The outdoor sculpture garden is gorgeous.
I loved the sea-creatures represented by this glass. I saw several things I’d like for my home, especially a sculpture of a woman with a pear. But we’re in the middle of landscaping and other expensive activities, so they’ll have to wait. Until then, I’ll visit the Hawthorne Gallery again and again to appreciate the talent represented there.
