Has your heart been broken?

Has your heart been broken?

If it has, my own heart goes out to you. I know what it feels like: I didn’t reach my advanced age without an arrow or two to my own heart.

I’m not sure who needs to hear it but let me just say this to those paralyzed and stricken by heartbreak:

Believe in yourself. Have no doubt that you are all that and a bag of chips, too. Believe in your worth, because you ARE worthy–of love and so much.

Believe there’s a life path you’re intended to walk and you are on it. This is just one stumbling block along the way. Or maybe a lesson. Yes, a lesson. See? There IS a purpose.

Oh, you would have rather NOT had this lesson? Yeah, me either. But not our choice. So walk through it with your head held high.

Better things like ahead, if you’re open to them. Things you can’t even imagine right now. Like the most amazing love–much more amazing than the one you’re leaving behind.

You can get through this. Oh yes, you can. You are so much stronger than you think.

Yes, hearts hurt when they’re broken and it can seem as though you’ll never get over it.

I’m here today to tell you that you can. You can get over it.

Take the time you need to grieve your great loss.

And then? Move on. Do something new.

Consider all of the opportunities just waiting for you to engage with them.

Pick up on one –or even more than one.

  1. I feel most for the people who tried to move on during the worst of the Covid epidemic. We still need to be reasonable and careful, but at least we aren’t stuck at home 24/7 to wallow in it.
