The hot summer nights of August are upon us–who could believe summer break is almost over for many kids (and parents).
And yes, talk about hot–some of you have really felt the heat of this year’s hot summer nights! Hope you are finding a way to keep cool. I’ve enjoyed our relatively cool northern California weather and not looking forward to the humidity of the east coast at the end of the month!

It happened not too long ago. Laurie was minding her own business when out of the blue…she turned 66. (Yes, she’s one of those women who tell their age and says to heck with it.) If you asked in her teens or twenties, what this time would be like, she would’ve conjured up those old women in “Zorba the Greek”—bent, dressed in black, and shaking their fist at the sky. Instead, something odd happened.
Did you know Barbie doll was copied from a German risque gift for men? Rita Robison, consumer and finance journalist, has never liked Barbie, because of her unrealistic body shape that leads girls to not like their bodies.
