"I always feel happier," she said

April 6, 2009

About two years ago, a friend who is an organizational development consultant invited a group of women to her Orlando home for a mini-retreat.

The women came from as far away as California and Minnesota. They were all at mid-life or older. I think I might have been the only one who wasn’t self-employed.

We talked about career, life and fulfillment…about spirituality, dogs and health insurance for the self-employed…we ate good food…we talked more…we watched the sunset.

I took it all in. I asked a lot of questions.

It was that day, in that group that the spark was generated for me to start my own business.

It was a life-changing day for me.

Today, in an email, my friend said this:

Quality of life and living your passion are CORE to who we are and – how we are meant to live our lives – you are on a great path now!

Regarding money – sometimes – very often – I make more than when I was in the corporate world of employment and sometimes I don’t but I ALWAYS feel happier – healthier and more connected than I did in the corporate world.

The song was sung beautifully as you could feel the heartbreak in it. I don’t like sad feelings… but who does?

Congrats for finding you before it was too late.

  3. Thanks, ladies! Me, too.
