Romantic view

Romantic view, moghul style.

One of the most beautiful features of historical India is the archway and we saw it in many different renditions, all of them graceful and romantic.

Outside...

Outdoors….

Indoors. Aren’t the scallops lovely?

Each one evoked a long ago time when maharajahs really ruled….

nice arches
and had palaces so exotic and luxurious that they still stand the test of time. Upon walking through an old archway I could put myself back in that time, instantly. These are Hindu style.

In Agra

In Agra. Moslem-style.

Like a dream, it appeared in front of us in the fog, a monument to love.

Sandstone is a lovely pink, adding to the enchanted feel of a palace.

Something about those keyhole arches.

Beautiful. Evocative. Close your eyes….are you there?

Same palace.

Same palace.

Notice anything unusual?

Carol…this was a lovely post. Evocative of the “Kehole” on the Aventine hill that outlines the Vatican.

Gorgeous photographs, Carol. Do your travels ever bring you to Switzerland?
