What inspires me this moment

A few of my favoriteinspirational

My dear blogger friend, Haralee, challenged me to write about three inspirational quotes that have touched me in a special way. The fact is that MANY quotes touch me.  What they have in common is a thought-provoking way to summarize a feeling or a situation. What speaks to me depends on mood and moment.

But today, I’ll give you three I like right now: this very minute.

This is the way I’ve always lived my life, never really obsessing over any particular path or achievement, just identifying opportunities and knowing that if I wanted to take them, I could. That doesn’t mean I haven’t turned some down or sat on my ass when I could be achieving something. But I don’t get all wrapped around the axle about it. I know that if I believe in what I’m doing, I’ll make it a success. Does that make sense?

Of course, I’ve had my share of drama and I have been a real drama queen at times in my life. I’m certain there were times that some of my friends wanted to club me over the head. But then, that’s the way I process stuff.

Still and all, I don’t stay wrapped around the axle long (are you getting the drift?) because I know that something fabulous is around the next corner. I am confident of it.

To be honest, I just never got the memo about pissing, moaning and being depressed about my life. Then again, I’ve had a pretty damn lucky life so far and I’m aware that now that I’m aging, all that might change. And I might change. If faced with a bigger challenge, I hope that I will remember that all things happen as they are supposed to.

I must say that this is a goal and I am imperfect, especially when it comes to grocery store baggers or other minor irritations. But I do love the idea of heartprints, and if you are in my life a lot you are covered with them and if you don’t see them, then look harder because they are there, for sure.

So that’s it. My three inspirational quotes, the ones that resonated with me the moment I wrote this. The next moment? Might be three others.

And with that, I’ll ask three other bloggers to do the same, if they’d like to: Kim Tackett, Nancy Fox and Laurel Regan.

What about you? This moment, what quote resonates for you? Share below and Riley will pick a random name for a giveaway–he’d like to leave a pawprint on someone’s heart! Write your inspirational quotes below!

The “sometimes when things are falling apart” quote: I hope that is true, because that is what is happening to me (in a way) right now. And to a sister in law who has been unemployed since November and has been an unpaid caregiver to her elderly mother. And to some other people I know. I don’t have an inspirational quote for you today – too busy keeping on! No, wait, I have one.
How about “keep moving forward and hope the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t an oncoming train”?

    Hello Carol,

I’m very attracted to quotes. They can touch my soul and move me without reading the entire book where they call home. I have more books holding quotes on my shelves than any other topic.

One of my favorites is by Nicky Gumbel. It helps me stay centered in the here and now. “Today is the oldest you have been and the youngest you will ever be.”

And I’ll close with this gem written in WINTER OF ARTIFICE, by Anais Nin. “Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.”

    All good wishes, Carol,
    Sandy

  3. Haralee says:

“Wherever you go you leave a heart print” I love that Carol. It is something to aspire to and inspiring too! Thanks.

  4. So sweet to think of me Carol. Since I’m a food blogger, I won’t share my 3 favorite quotes on Skinny Kitchen. People only want my recipes there. But I’d love to share them with you here:

    1. “I did then what I knew how to do. Now that I know better, I do better.”-Maya Angelou
    2. “There is no substitute for hard work”- Thomas Edison
    3. “Sleep is the key to life”- Nancy Fox

  5. Dan says:

    Love these quotes!
One of my newest favorites is
“Imagination is more important than knowledge” Albert Einstien

  6. Leaving heartprints…what a lovely thought!

  7. Sacha says:

My favorite is “She is beautiful, she can so she did”

  8. I really like the one about falling apart vs falling into place.
    My favourite is:

Home is the place that when you have to go there they have to take you in.
