Italians love their dogs

October 2, 2010

Dogs are a really big thing in Italy. They’re everywhere, even in some cafes. I’ve noticed that few have had “obedience training.” We’ve seen quite a few huge Bernese Mountain Dogs in town; they seem to be popular in these parts. This beautiful one sits in the doorway of its owner’s jewelry shop during store hours. I’ll bet he or she is a very effective theft deterrent.

But all of these dogs have to be kept looking their beautiful best. I don’t remember seeing this grooming spa for dogs last year, so it must be new.

A sign inside proclaimed something like: A clean dog lives better, and you with it. Very true.
And of course, this is Max, our host dog at the B&B, and our favorite Acqui dog.

  1. I love dogs too!
I was actually searching for Maremanno – Italian mountain dog. People have them in Europe, but in in North America.
My dog hated to bath though. Hope the next one will be better.
