Boomers share jukebox memories, deep thoughts and funny stories

October 2, 2022

Hey everyone!

If you had any doubt Boomers are living full lives as they age, these musings, memories and funny stories will show you just how much fun they’re having! Find your favorite blogger and check out the others, too, by clicking the bold faced colored phrases. You won’t be disappointed!

Laurie

Laurie’s husband Randy is the best present giver ever, buying everything with great care, planning, and generosity. So, for her birthday recently, when he pulled out a huge, heavy box for her to open, she was intrigued. Inside was a vacuum-packed item that looked large, white, and soft. “What is this?” she asked. Randy gave a knowing smile.

Meryl

A memorial service for a friend prompted memories of loved ones long gone for Meryl Baer of Beach Boomer Bulletin. Her mind wandered back decades to happy childhood summers in the mountains with her grandparents. She reminisces about Catskill Mountain summers in this week’s post, Grandma Rose, Aunt Janice and Me.

Rebecca

Getting old is a fact of life we can’t escape but that doesn’t mean we have to like every aspect of it. In fact, some things about it are super annoying. Rebecca Olkowski, with BabyBoomster.com muses about what she hates about growing older.

Rita

Rita R. Robison, consumer and personal finance journalist, is thrilled that J. Money of Budgets Are Sexy recommended her free, weekly newsletter on 10 money tips. He said it’s like getting all the financial secrets each week, and he signed up for Robison’s newsletter himself, something he rarely does. See “J. Money of Budgets Are Sexy Recommends My Newsletter” and sign up for this great newsletter, too.

Diane

This week, Diane’s been remembering her first crush. A cute boy who lived just down the street who was sweet and kind…and a bit taller than she was. Perfect? Well…they were nine!

Carol

And then there’s me. My “step-uncle” passed last week and that passing, like the Queen’s, represented more than just a personal loss. Read about it HERE.
