If you’re a friend of mine and especially a man, the next time I see you I would just love for you to do this. Just sayin’. I’ll let you imagine me laughing.
Laughing yet?
Things have been way too serious these past months, so I thought it might be fun to take a laughter break. A little ridiculosity, like the squirrel and text above, a little rueful smiling, some self-recognition and maybe even a belly laugh. Yes, I made up the word, ridiculosity.
This is SO me. Is it you, too? Or are you more responsible?
Have you ever had one of these texts-gone-wrong? We want to hear about it!
“Carol Ann!” I remember this well. And my husband does it, too. To me. When he is pissed, but not too pissed.
Yeah, this hasn’t happened to me. Yet.
I’m really not big on the selfie as I think I’m already too self-absorbed. And so are cats. And much of Facebook.
I think she has a good point, don’t you? This sort of reminds me of something I said to a BFF last month: “You’ll have to tell me how you do that, talk out of both sides of your mouth at the same time, because my mouth just won’t do that…” She laughed, because she knows it’s true. She argues both sides of any issue pretty well because she is sharp as a tack.
Yes, you know who you are, BFF. And by the way, isn’t it great to have a friend you can say things like that to? And she says things like that back to me. I love having writers as friends.
Legal in California! And in a year, legal for recreational use, too! Sooo happy!
And there’s this:
Oh yes, I remember. I never played it safe. Still don’t, not really. I’m drawn to “sorry.”
I so get this. I’ve never used a Swiffer. Actually, I don’t even know where our vacuum cleaner is. Or how to use it.
Must admit, some things bother me, but I’m learning to let fewer things get to me.
I can’t tell you the number of times my husband has said this to me. And yet, I persist. Sometimes.
If I were honest (yes, which I am, to a fault) I would have to admit to asking my therapist why we couldn’t just have relationships in fantasy. But that was years ago.
The relationship I have now is the one many women fantasize about. It includes a whole lot of laughter, too.
So did something funny happen to you recently? Or did you see something funny? Share the laughter, below.
Thank gawd for laughter. It’s balm for the soul–not to mention all the health benefits it confers. And there’s just nothing like sharing a good belly laugh with friends, getting the giggles at certain inappropriate times, or laughing so hard you cry. And these days, it helps keep us sane (and there’s no shortage of ridiculosity to laugh at). Fun post!
This is hilarious…………….I sent a text to my daughter once that said, “Call me when you have a sec.” Autocorrect changed it to, “Call me when you have sex.”
These texts are hysterical. I am not a fan of auto correct. It’s embarrassed me too many times.
Laughter is desperately needed these days. I’m burnew out on seriousness.
This is so freaking hilarious. Oh My God!! You are spot on the imaginary men. They are so less work and so much fun than real ones. Loved the post. Going to share this post with my GFs.
This post is awesomely hilarious! I needed a good laugh today so thanks for bringing this one to the table. Everything’s been nothing but serious and it would be nice to read something like this.
Hear hear sister. The world is a dark place and if we can’t laugh about it, we’ll end up crying and you know what? I’d much rather laugh my way to the end. ????

Laughter gets me through. I’m fortunately married to a man who makes me laugh. Intentionally. That’s important. 😉
I love these pictures! My cats are self absorbed and they make me humble and make me laugh.
