Learning disability

September 11, 2010

Was there a larger reason?

Maybe it was just random.
Maybe people happened to be in the wrong place
at the wrong time.

Could there have been a reason?
We’d like to think there was.

But either way, responding out of fear,
ignorance and hatred is not consistent with any
true religious tradition.

I’m sad that so many lives were cut short in 2001.
I’m sad that so many lives continue to be cut short by the
war that followed.
And I’m sad to see so many people today continue to act
out of fear, ignorance and hatred.

All these centuries of religious tradition
and we still can’t do unto others as we would have
them do unto us.

Have we learned nothing?
