Feelings are how we know we’re alive.
They’re also the starting point for emotional healing.
We’ve got to feel in order to heal.
But most of us would rather do anything but feel.
We avoid, stuff it, deny it, drink, drug and
let doctors give us mind-numbing prescription medication.
All to avoid the feeling that’s needed for healing.
When I think about healing, Louise Hay comes to mind.
She believes that how we talk about ourselves,
how we feel about ourselves, are important
components to healing our emotional ills.
A few of her pearls of wisdom:
Self-approval and self-acceptance in the now
are the main keys to positive changes
in every area of our lives.
In the now.
That means we can’t go forward unless
we’re ok with ourselves. Right now.
Be kind to yourself.
Begin to love & approve of yourself.
This is easier than it might seem.
Look at your self-talk,
the things you say about yourself
to yourself and to others.
Make self-talk positive,
even if you don’t feel it in the moment.
You will, eventually.
Saying it makes it true, trust me on this.
I know too many people who get stuck here.
Don’t be one of them.
You are not a helpless victim of your thoughts
but rather a master of your own mind.
I hate being a victim and so should we all.
Especially a victim of what we think and say.
These are things we control.
They are in our power to change.
Poof! Just like that.
Yes, that easy.
So, no more negative self-talk that
keeps us in dark places.
It may not be the Age of Aquarius any more,
but it’s still good to let the sun shine in.*
