Letting go makes one strong

March 15, 2013

Of course it is.
Letting go of anything is hard–we hold onto people, things, situations
as if they were stuffed teddy bears.
We hold on for dear life.

We embrace them and pet them
and poke at them so much
they get worn out from the attention.

Sometimes.

And then, other times, the object of our attention
likes it. They like being held tightly,
being a lifeline or the warmth in a cold night.

But, there are those times when we just have to let go.
Let go and take that leap into the great unknown
without anything to hold on to
except ourselves.

It’s not so bad.
Trust me, I know.
