Life after life: can science prove it?

March 30, 2015

evi7-1.1600Maybe like me, you’ve been paying attention to the scientific research into consciousness that’s been going on.  No, not the hack stuff, the real actual science.  There’s provocative evidence that consciousness may go on after the body dies, but where? Is there really some sort of life after this one? Life after life?

The largest medical study into near-death and out-of body experiences thinks that consciousness may, in fact, survive “death.” Led by respected scientist Sam Parnia, M.D., the study was published in the journal, Resuscitation, whose editor admitted that medicine still knows very little about what happens when we die.

But science is on the brink of showing that it’s not as much of a mystery as we think.

Want to read more? You can do that HERE at Boomeon, where, as usual, I’d love your comments and shares.

I am on the fence about this whole topic. I don’t think anyone really knows for sure.

  2. For me I believe in eternal life and the is with Christ. I am a follower of God’s Word so life after death here on earth I do not believe in but with God yes.

  3. With our ability to emote and make judgements….I say our consciousness survives beyond death.

  4. Great, thought provoking post Carol. I sure am hopeful!

  5. Skitz O'Fuel says:

Unfortunately, the vast majority of scientific evidence only supports one answer to what is consciousness. You are yer brain. Once the brain ceases to function, so do you cease to exist. There is absolutely no proof of consciousness beyond death. None of the experiments dealing with NEAR DEATH experiences relate to actual DEATH.

    • Actually, that may not true. Physicians will tell you that they have no idea what consciousness is or really how it works. The evidence from some of the hard science being done is pointing toward consciousness existing outside the brain.

  6. Thanks for thinking outside the box and sharing info from others who do so, too. Will tweet the Boomeon link to encourage others to read/think more about the mystery of consciousness.

  7. Heading over and will leave my comment there, Carol.

This is something I don’t know. My whole life I would say no. Then most of my immediate family died and now I’m not so sure. Hopeful though.

  13. Hope says:

I believe in life after death and think people come into your lives several times.

I always find this subject so interesting. And I think it is important to talk about. I do believe in afterlife…and more. Fascinating!

I’m always facinated with this topic, there’s so much we just don’t know.

  16. Sounds like an interesting study. Can’t wait to read more.

You always talk about the most interesting things. I’m going over to Boomeon to read the rest.

  18. Tesha Fritz says:

I’m not sold on this article. I believe in life after death because of my faith. Many people think science and faith are enemies of one another. I think they are buddies! Just my two cents.

  19. Ruth Curran says:

Couldn’t comment on Boomeon from my phone so…. I am glad I will be there with you this year! I can’t begin to describe the excitement!
