As writers, we certainly live out loud, even though our words are on the page. I couldn’t be an actor on stage, that would be too scary. But it’s funny how many shy people don’t mind “getting out there” with their written words.
Hi Dear Carol,
You might be sorry you asked! Like Laurie, being a writer is a great way to live out loud. But I must admit in the years of trump I’ve gotten louder and louder. Or should I say, I got angry and said things OUT LOUD I thought I might never say before. I mean, after a while I give a damn if someone thinks I’m being impolite. And it truly started during a dinner meeting with a church group, we got on politics, some were voting for trump (the lst time) and I said right out BUT HE STARTED BIRTHERISM. Well five of the eight assembled smiled and said, YES. That was it for me. I got up, washed my salad bowl, pulled John away and we left. John likes to be the peacemaker. To hell with any of them and I never went back. RACISTS!
Sometimes being quiet to listen is how I do it. Mostly being quiet to write. 😉
