Modern conveniences

February 4, 2010

I sold our microwave oven at my garage sale the other day, and the new one I ordered online hasn’t arrived yet.

I asked M. if he wanted the leftover Chinese food from our little neighborhood cafe –a great discovery– tonight.

His eyes lit up.

“Yes!” and then, he looked stricken: “But how will we heat it up?”

Umm. Yeah.

What about trying a pan on the huge four burner gas stove that’s sitting prominently in the kitchen?

I know. Old school.

But effective.

My husband has led a…let’s call it “focused”… life, so my days are filled with this kind of anecdote. I’ll be sharing more.
