Moving sculpture on a Santa Fe street

November 4, 2013

Not even a block from our hotel in Santa Fe last month was this riveting kinetic sculpture:

I couldn’t move away from it. Every time we passed by, I had to stop and watch.  And this is what it is.
2013-10-01 18.44.37If I owned it, I’d put a comfy chair right in front of it and watch it all day.  But it would set me back $2250. M, are you listening?

What’s the most riveting piece of art you’ve ever seen?

Gorgeous. It’s ballet. Only $2250? Seriously, someone smart is gonna scoop it up.

There are versions far more expensive and smaller ones that are cheaper. He makes tons of them in different configurations and materials, and sizes. This one really was ballet, great analogy!

I love this sculpture! OMG–it is so worth the money. But you’re right…I’d want to look at it all day and I’d lose hours in the sheer bliss. Love Santa Fe and Canyon Rd. I’ve only been there once, but it was wonderful!

  3. Hey Carol:
After we move down to southern Colorado next spring, and build our own solar home, my husband Mike hopes to start making kinetic sculptures like that!

Simply mesmerizing. I would stare at it all day, too.

  5. I loved that sculpture too, Carol! It was marvelous, and I stared at it every day we were in Santa Fe. Thanks for reminding me about it. I miss the area already.

It is NOT, NOT, NOT like New Jersey. Sigh…

It looks as if it’s reaching out to the Universe. Would love to see it moving. Must browse You Tube. Thanks for sharing.
