My anti-bucket list

September 22, 2012

One of the great things about age is that fuller sense of what you will and will not do.

No pretense, no having to impress someone.

Just knowing your likes, dislikes and…your limits.

Drawing a line in the sand, so to speak.

And so I present to you my Anti-Bucket List.

That is, the things I will never, ever do:

Sky dive.

Eat liver.

Or haggis.
(Once is enough.)

Or insects.

Drink gin.

Run a marathon.

Bicycle a century.

Smoke, ever again.

Communicate in tweets.

Use “journal” as a verb.

Re-read The Satanic Verses.

Take a bus cross-country.

Read the Bible cover to cover.

Put up with corporate politics.

Climb a mountain. Or a climbing wall.

Work for a crazy person ever again. Ever.

Drive across Texas. Unless it’s the shortest route somewhere.

My butt will never sit on a motorcycle seat for a long trip. Ever.

Go camping again. Even tent camping. Especially tent camping in Yosemite. And definitely not camping in bear country. No. Not ever.

So what’s your anti-bucket list?

Ha! Skydive was also at the top of my anti-bucket list, followed by bungee jump. I also have no intention whatsoever of:
Taking LSD, Ecstasy, crystal meth, heroin or any other recreational psychotropic or opiate “just to see what it’s like”

As for stuff mentioned by others — horse meat, Fortune 500 co., it’s difficult to say “never” for example: CFM heels? Maybe for a few minutes if useful.

    sailing in choppy waters

    wearing puff sleeves

    partying like it’s 1999 because it ain’t

    eating horse meat

working for a fortune 500 company

    starting a new B&B

    wearing CFM heals

oh there are so many more…. hahahaha

    xoxo to you both

  3. Totally with you on that puff sleeve thing. And other stuff! LOL

  4. WHY didn’t I think of bungee dive?? Oh and the CFM heels are comfy–if you’re horizontal. The only way to wear them.
