Say what you will about the calendar on your smartphone or computer screen. There’s something exciting about physically turning the page of a calendar past December 31 and seeing the blank spaces of ready to be filled with events that will make up this new year of my life.

In writing my memoir, I spend whole days immersed in years past, the people and events that made up my life then and are now part of my history. I place myselfs in that place and time and it’s with no little bit of shock that i come to, to my present.
