new-year-wishes

New Year Wishes

It’s been a hard year in the world. Hard in every sense of the word. It’s hard to not despair.  And yet, a new year brings hope that the slate can be washed clean and we can start anew.

At midnight, we turn the page on the day, the month and the year.

I’m not making resolutions, just New Year wishes.

As the new year approaches, I wish for peace in the hearts of all people– the kind that makes peace on earth possible.

May joy infuse our hearts and our souls this coming year, regardless of our circumstances and what goes on around us.

Let love drive everything we do this year, because it really is the seed from which everything good grows.

Thank you so very much for coming by and spending time with me here. I appreciate you more than you can imagine.

I hope you’ll share your new year wishes below, because I’m eager to hear them.

I agree. And I appreciate you as well and am thankful to have the opportunity to follow you.

    Peace – Joy – Love!

  2. Carol I love your wishes and totally agree!! Wishing you a wonderful and very happy and healthy New Year! xo

  3. I have been making new year intentions for the last several years now–I pick a word that exemplifies what I want for the new year. Creating wishes is a great concept; peace is well suited for the place our world seems to be in right now.

My wish for the new year: daily we find reason to NOT despair and turn our attention to what is right and good.

  5. Great post Carol! Last year was a mixed bag for me. While I moved the needle with the Travel Blonde and did some nice trips (not nearly enough LOL) we also suffered a loss and spent a year caregiving and dealing with the upleasant aftermath (asshole family members). SO at the end of this year I am not making resolutions I am taking action to make this year the year that is positive and where I work on making what I like to call Maureen 2.0 a happening thing!

Happy New Year Carol! I hope our paths cross in 2015!

  6. Kelly says:

I love this, Carol! Do everything in love…you can’t go wrong. Happy New Year! My wish is for peace, within and around. Cheers!

  7. All good thoughts for a New Year, Carol.

  8. What a lovely message, Carol. Although I have been largely absent for the past 4 weeks for reasons not worth kvetching about, I wanted to say how much I have enjoyed your posts this year. Looking forward to more in 2015 – Happy New Year to you.

  9. Loved this, Carol. From yoga I learned to “set intentions” and so it is with you as well.

This year was not a good year for me and my family – except one exceptional thing that happened (yes I’m vaguebooking!) that is more important than everything put together! So I’ll keep hope in my heart that 2015 will be a joyous year. Blessings, less drama, joy and above all good health. Those are my set intentions.

    Oh, and plenty of writing!!!!

I’ve been happy to come to your blog for so many reasons, and I thank you for your ongoing support and friendship. Happy New Year, Carol, to you and yours!

I wish for peace in hearts too.
my sister asked last night if Lauren Bacall died and if so why didn’t she know? I said she died in the midst of so many more “gruesome” deaths.
And so much craziness. I hope people can find it in their hearts to stop hating so much.

Your posts are wonderful and your trips inspiring.

  11. Carolann says:

Happy New Year! I never make them either so I’m with you on that one. I wish you and yours a blessed and fab new year!

  12. Perfectly stated: “Let love drive everything we do this year, because it really is the seed from which everything good grows.” I’ll second that… and leave it at that.

  13. Lana says:

You said it so well – I can’t think of anything to add! I’m so thankful that I came across your blog this year. Reading it enriches my life every day. Have a wonderful New Year!

  14. I agree with you! Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me! Happy New Year and blessings to you from Teresa at NanaHood.com

  15. Mary says:

Carol, Happy New Year to you! I so agree, we all need to wipe the slate clean of the past and start anew. I cheers to you for a spectacular 2015!

  16. I am so with you, Carol! Love this post – and all your posts, duh — and am looking forward to a great new year together!

  17. Kim Tackett says:

I actually love NY Resolutions, and take them seriously. But this year, I am going to declare the Year of the Ukulele. Because I think we need some silly! (serious about the silly).

  18. Diane says:

I couldn’t say it any better, Carol! The world just seems to be getting scarier. My wish is that hearts may be turned and peace may come. For the children, especially. And for the world.

  19. Happy New Year, Carol! It has been wonderful reading your posts and getting to know you during 2014!
My wish is for love in all hearts too. And kindness, the action type.

  20. Patty Gale says:

So beautiful! Thank you! I don’t make resolutions, either. My wish you for is a peaceful heart full of love. Thank you for sharing!

  21. Helene Cohen Bludman says:

A brand new year — anything is possible if we all work together to make it happen. I share your wishes for peace, joy and love. And I look forward to reading more of your posts in 2015.

  22. I wish that I find time to be a little more myself this year without compromising to others ideas. With compassion, of course! Happy New Year!!

  23. Ruth Curran says:

New Year’s wishes and letting love drive everything we do – now that is perfect! I am looking forward to growing together again next year! Cheers Carol!

  24. I am hoping that people will recognize that their continuous need for more things is a very poor substitute for the underlying emotional/psychological needs (e.g. love, belonging, status, power, etc). Wanting more than we really need is at the core of so many problems in the world today – pollution, violence, abuse, war.

  25. A very Happy New Year to me. You’ve become such a dear friend this past year. I am so glad to have gotten to know you. Your sense of humor always puts a huge smile on my face! Stay “untangled” this year haha!

  26. Robin says:

“Peace on Earth” never happens. How about “Less War”?
