There are no wrong turns…only unexpected paths.

So said Mark Nepo in my morning reading a few months ago.

It’s a great way to look at life.

Oh, sure, you might say it seems a little Pollyanna-ish, because yes, some really bad stuff happens.

But that stuff’s going to happen no matter how we think about it. So if we at least attempt to consider it an adventure, we’ll probably get through it much more easily.

No matter how it ends.

No wrong turns.

Only unexpected paths.

    The pandemic was an unexpected path (not just for me) that led to something different than what I had planned for retirement. So was an experience from years ago that gave me experience that came in handy years later. Whatever happens has value – sometimes immediate, sometimes years later.

    I find it comforting to believe that everything happens for a reason. The thought of randomness is much scarier.
