Peace, love & creative writing

November 15, 2009

I’ve met with my new client, that big household name company that has engaged me to do a creative writing workshop for its stable of 25 writers.

They’d like to inject more life and creativity into the vast amount of marketing copy they write each day. And when I can tell you who they are, you’ll appreciate just what a challenge that is.

They are the ideal client for a workshop like this, because the executives are also writers.

They want a fun and interactive workshop, so I’m working on some writing exercises that will strengthen their skills as well as entertain them.

(Because we writers are always entertained by our own writing.)

They’d also like techniques to get past writer’s block.

I’m accustomed to teaching novice writers, so this curriculum is just a joy to put together. Each of the trainees is a professional writer, passionate about writing and does their own writing outside of work. It’s ideal.

Perhaps I should package this and market it to companies in California.

I know.

I wasn’t going to work next year.

See how I get in my own way?

Stop it, Carol. Just STOP it.
