Promises, promises

September 19, 2013

“I guess I was wrong when I said I never promised anyone.
I promised me.” ~ Kermit the frog

Some of the most important promises are those we make to ourselves.

I don’t know about you, but I’m more apt to break promises I make to myself than those I make to others.

Why is that? I wonder.  Do I value a promise made to myself so much less than that I make to another?

That’s got to change. I’m starting work on it right this very minute.

  1. Good luck with that. I have the very same issue with breaking promises with myself.

  2. Me too!! Excellent point, succinctly made!

Yes, in a succinct mood, that day! Thought of you the other day and how much I appreciate your blogging style. More on this soon!

Very good point. It is just so disappointing when I realize that I have broken a promise to anyone but I had never thought about those I make to myself. Truly I go to bed thinking about those every night of my life.

Wow…if I did that I probably wouldn’t sleep a wink! The ones we make to ourselves are often the most important, I believe.

I am also guilty and I know why. It’s because I know I’ll forgive myself immediately and our relationship will not suffer. You see, I love me and I understand me and my crazy life.

That one got my attention. I am usually busy keeping all the promises I make to everyone else.
