Tikva’s monument was unveiled in San Francisco a few days ago. Tikva is the beautiful angel-daughter of my friend, G. The baby girl who was called to Heaven just two months after she was born.

The inscription “Love is all you need” is on her monument.

I read her mother’s blog regularly. It’s raw and open and honest. And I’m struck by her courage. It takes courage to love deeply, not knowing the outcome.

Those of us who feel we must control our universe– like some mighty Atlas balancing the world as it revolves and spins– still need to learn that we do not support the heavens … they support US.

That is the lesson I take from Tikva’s short life, and from the inscription on her monument.
