Review: Gary Danko & the pleasure of food

July 21, 2011

Food is one of the most sensual pleasures we can enjoy. Breaking bread together is a way we show love and develop friendship. Food can support good health (or not). Preparing it can be a fun past-time, a hobby, a career. Since retirement, I’ve enjoyed making delicious and healthy meals.

But I also love to dine out.

We were lucky enough to dine at Gary Danko in San Francisco last month, considered one of the finest restaurants in that city. Some SF friends dine there regularly and scored the four of us a fabulous table on very short notice.

I firmly believe that the first mark of a great meal isn’t its food, it’s the company. Our friends are smart, involved, and enjoy some of the same things we do. So it was an evening of stimulating conversation that never lagged.

The food, however, was sublime. I’ve reviewed Gary Danko in my Patch.com blog. For the review, click HERE
